Interesting thought
While going through many journals I discovered that the wolf’s fruit is highly consumed by the maned wolf but also has been used in traditional medicine to treat renal pains (18). I found this very interesting, as maned wolves are predisposed to build ups of cystine (a disease called cystinuria) in their urinary passages. Could the wolf’s fruit be helping them with the pain of this renal predisposition or have they evolved to eat this fruit to reduce the occurrence of it?
